Starting 2025 as we mean to go on

Another month has passed in the UAE and the Breen Team has been firing on all cylinders. With Nations Cup call-ups and multiple top placings.
The year for Georgia and Katie began at CSI2* Abu Dhabi FMBA Shoq, with all horses jumping some great rounds. Katie and Artic Blue BP placed in the CSI2* 1.40 classes, and Z7 Pink Panther finished 4th in the CSIYH1* 7-year-old Final. As for Georgia’s team, Z7 For T also finished 4th in his CSIYH1* 6-year-old Final, with BE Thiassi picking up 6th place in the 7-year-olds and 5th in the Final.
It was an excellent preparation for the team before they headed to The Al Shira’aa Tour for two weeks. Shane was back on board this week, placing 6th in the CSI3* 1.45 with Z7 Olina and Opportunity picking up 9th place in the CSIYH1* 6-year-old qualifier to go on to finish 3rd in the 6-Year-Old Grand Prix! Georgia and Breen Auction Graduate and homebred BE Thiassi flew to 9th and 5th place in both CSIYH1* 7-year-old qualifiers, finishing 8th in the 7-Year-Old Grand Prix. Katie expertly piloted the uber-consistent Z7 Pink Panther to a win in the CSIYH1* 7-year-old Final in week one, effortlessly delivering a quick double clear to take the victory.
Shane and BP Artic Blue had a superb run in the CSI2* classes of week 2, landing 5th place in the opening 1.40, then finishing 2nd in the CSI2* 1.45 Grand Prix – ‘Blue’s’ Grand Prix debut! As for Scarteen, he and Shane picked up 5th in the CSI4*-W 1.50, and young gun Opportunity landed 6th in the CSIYH1* 6-year-old class. Georgia also had a great week in the CSI4*-W classes, steering Fan Fan De Beaufour to 8th in the 1.45 Accumulator as well as in the young horse classes, where Z7 For T finished 4th in the CSIYH1* 6-year-old Final.

The next show on the calendar was CSI4*-W Abu Dhabi. Our team of impressive 7-year-olds proved consistency is key in the CSIYH1* classes, with Katie and Z7 Pink Panther winning the first qualifier, Georgia and Thiassi in 2nd and Billy Limelight in 6th. As for the second qualifier, Billy Limelight flew to 4th place, with Z7 Pink Panther just behind in 8th. As for the Final, Georgia impressively piloted BE Thiassi to win the 7-Year-Old Grand Prix. We couldn’t be more thrilled, with Z7 Pink Panther and BE Thiassi being Breen-bred horses by our stallion, Cuick Star Kervec.
Shane and Scarteen kicked things off at Sharjah with second place in the CSI04* 1.50, and Opportunity finished third in the CSIYH1* 6-year-old Final. With all eyes on CSIO4* Sharjah for Shane’s Nations Cup ride, Z7 Olina placed a respectable 8th place in the CSIO4* 1.45 in preparation for them to fly the Irish flag. The pairing delivered two solid rounds for Team Ireland, showing us the bright future for these two! Georgia and BE Golden stole the show for Great Britain in the Nations Cup, helping them achieve a brilliant first place with a crucial clear round with just a time fault in Round 2. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Georgia back with us and representing Team GB, and even better for her to do it on a Breen-bred horse by Golden Hawk!
Overall, it was an unforgettable month with some fantastic results. We are incredibly grateful to all our sponsors and supporters who helped make this all possible.
