LGCT Miami & Mexico
What an extraordinary couple of weeks it has been following the LGCT tour with yard favourite Z7 Ipswich and up and coming stallion Vistogrand.
First up was a wonderful weekend at LGCT Miami Beach, with a backdrop straight out of a postcard. We couldn’t be more thrilled with how Vistogrand stepped up to the plate at only his second ever 5* show with Shane looking like he needed a parachute to stay on him during the classes! Z7 Ipswich jumped an impressive round for the GCL Rome Gladiators, with team mates Zoe Conter and Nina Mallavaey taking over in Round 2 to secure the bronze position in the overall rankings for the team to lie in 5th overall – well done girls!
A quick plane ride and a week off saw the horses and Ellen head to Mexico City for yet another incredible venue on the LGCT Tour. Z7 Ipswich was quick off the blocks in the 5* 1.40 Trofeo Maestro Dobel with a speedy clear round to finish in 11th, but it was Vistogrand who really looked at home in the huge grass arena. He not only looked like a class of his own in the 5* 1.55 Trofeo Mercedez-Benz, but claimed 5th place in the hotly contested class; a huge congratulations to Breen Team graduate Michael Duffy who finished just ahead of Shane and Vistogrand for 4th place! The horses put in more fantastic rounds in the 5* 1.50 and 5* 1.45 classes for some lower placings to finish off the show on a high.
We couldn’t feel more privileged to be able to follow this amazing tour to such idyllic venues, and a huge thanks to our team and sponsors who make it possible!
