Heading Out With A Bang!

As our time in The UAE ends, Breen Equestrian ensures it ends with 5* win and lots of top 10 placings.
CSI2* Sharjah proved to be a great success for our team of young horses; Shane took the reins of young stallion Lucky Luck, jumping clear in the CSI2* 1.35 accumulator. Katie’s team have gone from strength to strength during this tour. BE Qvickly Star picked up 7th in the CSI2* 1.35, starting the tour at 1.20 level – we couldn’t be prouder of this mare! BE Alcantara shone brightly the week after at CSI2* Abu Dhabi, jumping into 3rd place in the CSI2* 1.30 and placing just outside the top 10 in the 1.35.
Next on the calendar was CSI5*-W Sharjah. Z7 Ipswich made his mark, taking an incredible in the CSI5* speed class and finishing inside the top 10 in the CSI5* 1.55 winning round. Stablemate Scarteen impressed in the CSI5* 1.55 Sharjah Ruler Cup for 3rd. Scarteen also finished just outside the top 10 in the 1.50 Council Cup earlier in the week.
Katie competed in the CSI2*, piloting BE Alcanatra to two 1.40 clear rounds. The penultimate week took us to CSI3* Butheeb. Shane and Scarteen got the team off to a strong start, with 3rd place in the CSI3* 1.45 and just outside the top 10 in the CSI3* Grand Prix. BE Qvickly Star stepped up to jump her first 1.45 ranking class—she most definitely has a bright future ahead!

Darcy took Arena UK Pony Premier by storm, again jumping triple clear in the Winter JA Classic with One Saharah to place third!
Our final week in The UAE started at a flying start; Z7 Regal Don & Katie jumped 5th place in the opening CSI3* 1.30 class. Shane and nine-year-old Koh-I-Noor jumped some phenomenal clear rounds in the CSI3* 1.30s, giving us lots to be excited about! But seasoned pros Scarteen and Z7 Ipswich wanted to leave no stone unturned. Scarteen won in the CSI3* Ranking Class, and Z7 Ipswich landed 10th place in the CSI3* Grand Prix.

As we head home, all eyes now lay on Breen Equestrian’s Stud Open Day on April 1st. We look forward to welcoming all breeding enthusiasts to our yard, where they can meet our stallions and young stock, speak with experts Greg, Shane, and Chloe, and meet vets and nutritionists to gain valuable information for their own breeding programmes.
Thank you to everyone who makes tours like this possible – we are already looking forward to next year!
