From HOYS to Oliva: A Month of Success

Posted on November 7, 2025

While Shane has been sidelined recovering from injury, the Breen Equestrian team has been anything but quiet. October has been a month brimming with excitement as the next generation of Breens have stepped up in spectacular style – Darcy and Douglas doing the Breen name proud across the country.

Darcy continues to impress on the pony circuit, being crowned Leading Pony Rider of the Year at the British Showjumping Awards Ball at the beginning of the month; a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and consistency. She also delivered a superb performance with ‘One Saharah’ at HOYS, finishing 6th in the Pony Showjumper of the Year class, showcasing her talent and composure on one of the sport’s biggest stages.

Not to be outdone, Dougie has been making waves of his own. Partnered with his pony ‘Lambay Off Broadway’, they have built an impressive record this season, combining speed with precision beyond their years. This past month alone, they have secured two spots on the podium – first at HOYS, where they finished second in a competitive 128cm Champiobshio, just 0.17 seconds behind the winner, and later at Southview Equestrian, where they came back stronger to claim the 128/138 class title.

Katie Speller also represented the team at HOYS, producing a brilliant round with ‘Z7 Pink Panther’ to finish 5th in the iconic Talentseekers class. Over in Oliva, our riders continued to fly the flag with fantastic results. Eve McCoy took top honours in the 2* 1.30m Speed Class aboard ‘Commissaire S’, and picked up prize money in the 7YO 1.35m with ‘Killard Be Mine’. Georgia Tame impressed too, jumping great rounds with ‘Calixte Heartbreaker Z’ and finishing in the money in the 3* 1.50m GP.

After a brilliant year being based with us, it’s now time for Georgia to begin the next chapter of her career. We wish her every success and thank her for all she’s contributed to BE, from her heroic 5* Nations Cup debut and podium finish in Aachen, to 2-5* GP victories and countless memorable moments in between.

October has been a successful month for us, and none of it would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our incredible team. Thank you to everyone involved. Now bring on November!
