Celebrating a Month of Achievements
April has been an exhilarating month for Breen Equestrian, marked by international victories, the arrival of our first foal of the year, and the successful hosting of our annual Stud Open Day.
We started the month back in Abu Dhabi, where the team had an unforgettable week. Georgia Tame was never out of the placings with her team, but most notably won the 2* Grand Prix with homebred BE Alcantara as well as coming 4th in the 5* Grand Prix with homebred BE Golden Lynx. Not to be outdone, Shane also had a fantastic week, coming 3rd in the 2* Grand Prix with BP Arctic Blue and 6th in the 5* Grand Prix with Z7 Oilina.
We’re thrilled to share that Team GB secured a phenomenal victory in the Ponies Nations Cup at CSIOP-NC-Y Linz-Ebelsberg. Our very own Darcy Breen and ‘One Saharah’ played a pivotal role in this success, jumping a classy clear round to help win the gold. This pairing then went on to claim 2nd in the Pony Grand Prix – with the pairing not having a pole down all week! We’re incredibly proud of Darcy and the entire GB squad for such an achievement!
Back on British soil, homebred ‘Scarteen’, sired by the great ‘Golden Hawk’, sped to victory in the 2* Grand Prix at Chard Equestrian. This talented gelding continues to demonstrate the strength of our breeding program, along with his own talent at the top of the sport.
Our annual Stud Open Day on April 21st was a resounding success. We welcomed breeders, riders, and enthusiasts from across the country. The day was filled with sunshine, camaraderie, and a shared passion for equestrian excellence. Visitors enjoyed a parade of our esteemed stallions, guided tours of our facilities, and engaging demonstrations with our sponsors and partners. A highlight of the day was the unveiling of a bronze statue honouring our legendary stallion, Golden Hawk, sculpted by Juliet Cursham.
On April 24th, we celebrated the arrival of our first foal of the year—a stunning colt by our very own Colmar out of foundation mare Fragile D’or. This new addition embodies the promise of future excellence and continues our tradition of breeding top-tier sport horses.
