A Stunning Last Weekend in the Middle East

Posted on February 15, 2022

For our last weekend in the Middle East, the Breen Team headed back to Sharjah for the 5* World Cup show.

The whole team were on fire from the start. In the 5* 1.45 class on the Friday, Shane took the runner up position in the Ranking class aboard Lady Star van Doperheide, the little mare yet again showing off how much heart she has in the ring! Georgia and Z7 Caretina slotted into 7th place in the same class whilst Trevor and Germaine W followed on their heels to come 8th. Trevor also jumped clear in the 5* 1.50 on Highland President but it was David who came out with the best result, finishing in 7th on Foudre F in the same class.

Georgia and Z7 Caretina repeated their result from Friday, coming in 7th in the 5* 1.45 class. Shane and Vistogrand were entered in the 5* 1.50 jump off class, and the stallion jumped out of his skin to finish 11th.

On the last day, Trevor and Germaine W jumped a class round in the 5* 1.50 class to finish in 8th, whilst Georgia and Z7 Caretina rounded off their weekend with a 10th placing. On to the 5* Grand Prix, and the whole team did not disappoint. Vistogrand jumped his second ever Grand Prix at his first-ever 5*, and he showed his promise and scope whilst being expertly piloted by Shane. However, it was Trevor and David who brought home the top 10 finishes, with Trevor aboard Highland President coming 7th with David and Foudre F hot on their heels to finish 8th. What a weekend we will never forget! A huge congratulations to Breen Equestrian alumni Jack Ryan on his spectacular performance to finish 2nd in the 5* World Cup, what a talent for the future.

With our time in the sun coming to an end, we would yet again like to thank Team Z7 for allowing us to be based here for the winter – without them these results would not be possible! We already can’t wait to be back next year.
