A fantastic two weeks at LGCT & 5* Doha

The past two weeks, Shane, Karolina along with the up-and-coming gelding Cuick Star Kervec and yard favourite Z7 Ipswich called Al Shaqab home. The two weeks delivered some world-class show jumping, with Cuick picking up some more invaluable ring time at the 5* level and Z7 Ipswich doing what he knows how to do best – jumping clear rounds under pressure.
The first week was the 5* Al Shaqab show, where Z7 Ipswich warmed up over the bigger courses to get him ready for week 2. Cuick Star Kervec got better every single time he stepped into the huge sand ring, and ended week 1 on a high, finishing 11th in the 5* 1.50 in good company.
The much-awaited first Longines Global Champions Tour and Global Champions League kicked off in Doha, Qatar for the team’s second week at Al Shaqab. Cuick Star Kervec continued to impress the crowds and prove he’s more than ready to be the 5* horse that we always knew he would turn out to be. Z7 Ipswich made light work of the GCL courses, jumping clear for new team, the Roman Gladiators, in round one and an unlucky pole in round two. Teammate Fernando Martinez Sommer also jumped a fantastic clear the first day and just skimmed a fence in round 2 to post the same result as Shane. This left the Roman Gladiators in a strong 6th position for the rest of the season with the Prague Playoffs firmly in our sights! Z7 Ipswich finished strong to come 11th in the 5* Grand Prix and end the show on a high.
A huge thanks to our whole team who make shows like these possible and keeping our horses happy and healthy. Next up – Bonheiden!
