After another successful BE Auction in April, the month of May was definitely no
disappointment. Shane set for CSI5* in Hamburg with an exciting team of horses. Shane
made his first ring appearance on the talented 10- year-old, Scarteen (Cardento x Chellano),
who is BE bred. He started off with an impressive round in the 4* Derby qualifier coming 3 rd .
Cuick Star Kervec continued the success with a podium finish in the 5* Grand Prix Qualifier,
placing 3 rd , just 0.82 seconds behind the winner. The 9-year-old, Cato Boy stepped up to the
top of the sport, taking 2 nd place in the 5* 1.50 proving to be a very exciting horse for the
future.
Next, Shane headed to Wiesbaden where Scarteen continued his impressive form to take 4 th
place in the 4* Accumulator, showing his natural talent, clearing the 1.75 joker fence with
ease.
La Baule was next on the show plan with the same group of talented horses. Cato Boy
(Commissario x Lord Pezi) showed us once again what a star in the making he is, jumping a
fantastic round in the 5* 145, finishing in 7 th . The highlight of this show was Scarteen,
displaying his talent in the 5* Derby RĂ©gion des Pays taking top position on the podium. This
combination of horse and rider is certainly an exciting one for the future.
Shane went on to the Global Champions Tour held in Stockholm. Haya, the stunning 11-
year-old by Mylord Carthago, took the spotlight. She jumped an incredible clear round in
Round 1, finishing 4 th individually. She then impressed everyone in her 5* 160 Grand Prix
debut with a double clear, taking 2 nd place, proving time and time again how fast she can be
against the clock.
To end the month, we will be jumping on home ground at the Hickstead Derby Meeting
where we hope to make it even half as memorable as the previous year after winning the
prestigious Hickstead Derby on Can Ya Makan.
