A BRILLIANT End To 2024

Posted on January 8, 2025

As the year comes to a close and our team is in the midst of another tour in The UAE, we take the time to look back on the fantastic results we have had over the last few months.

Shane started the indoor season at The Horse Of The Year Show. Proving how ‘special’ he is, ‘Just Special’ finished 6th in the CSI3* 1.60 Accumulator and landed just outside the top 10 in the CSI3* 1.45 Stakes. Setting them up for even better results the following month in Maastricht – the pair finished 5th in the CSI4* 1.40. Cato Boy impressed with a clear in the CSI4*1.40 and a 10th place in the 1.50 class.

Shane’s last show in Europe before his team heads to the UAE was CSI5*-W Stuttgart, where Cato Boy continued his excellent form with a 5th-place finish in the CSI5*1.45, with Just Special jumping another great clear round in the CSI5*1.45.

Flash forward to December, when our horses settled into the beautiful Team Z7 base in Abu Dhabi. We kicked our tour off with CSI3* Sharjah. Shane and BE Golden placed 4th in the opening CSI3*1.45 and finished just outside the top 10 in the CSI3*1.50 CSI3* Grand Prix. Katie and BE Alcantara have picked up impressive form since arriving in the UAE, finishing 8th in the CSI3*1.45 Grand Prix Qualifier and winning the CSI3*1.40. The following week, they also jumped clear in the Abu Dhabi CSI4* 1.45.

Not to be outdone by stable mate and fellow homebred, BE Golden Lynx, taking first place in the six-bar. Shane also had a winner in Abu Dhabi, with rising star Z7 For T winning the CSIYH1* 5-year-old Grand Prix. Z7 Oilina and Scarteen also jumped CSI4*1.40 clear rounds!

While Shane flew home to begin preparations for the 2024 edition of The Brilliance Auction, Katie headed to CSI3*-W Al Ain, where she and BE Alcantara finished 4th in the CSI3*1.45, and BE Golden Lynx added another six-bar win to his list of accomplishments!

The Brilliance Horse Auction for 2024 saw a record-breaking night in The New London Plastics Arena at The London Horse Show. The final sales figure of £2.2 million and an all-time high average price of £200,000 saw the top-priced lot, Drive Me Crazy Z, go for £440,000, with Konrad Obolensky just behind him at £410,000.

We are grateful to all our sponsors, supporters, and team members for their contributions in 2024. We cannot wait to get back in the ring in 2025!
