A Birthday in Bonheiden
Shane and Ellen headed to Jumping Bonheiden this week with five horses for their third show on the trot in Belgium.
The horses kept up their brilliant form, with Lucky Luck adding more clear rounds to his CV in the 6-year-old classes. Cato Boy also contributed to the clear round tally, with foot-perfect clear rounds in the 1* 1.25 and 1* 1.30 class. The ever-consistent Elmira Mail jumped a fabulous round in the 2* 1.40 for a lovely educational round.
Z7 Dubai Castlefield stole the show in the 7-year-olds, jumping to 10th place in the qualifier and landing on the podium in the 7-year-old final for 3rd place. He easily cleared all the fences to showcase his scope and carefulness, impressing the crowds with his textbook technique. This stallion is surely one for the future and we are so proud to have him standing at stud again for the 2022 breeding season.
The older horses also pulled some great results out the bag over the weekend. Vistogrand jumped some fantastic rounds to qualify for the 2* Grand Prix where he finished in 12th, adding another great result to his resume and to perfectly set him up for his trip to Miami for the LGCT next week. Ending the show on a high, Cuick Star Kervec sped to 2nd place in the 2* Ranking Class on the Sunday to help celebrate Chloe’s birthday in style – and we know there’s no better way to spend a day than in the winner’s circle!
Endless thanks to the entire team at home and on the road. We wouldn’t be able to do any of this without our incredible team!
