Colmar was an International Grade A competing at the 1.60m level. He is Graded Elite Stallion with the AES Studbook. Colmar was a very elegant horse with a beautiful head with a kind eye. He had textbook technique with very tidy front legs over his fences. He had a big canter and was light on his feet, showing beautiful, regular and floaty paces. Colmar is regularly used by showjumping and event horse breeders (Gemma Tattersall & Tina Cook) as he usually breeds blood type horses as he adds much quality to his stock. Colmar is the sire to one of the highest graded showjumping foals in the futurity series in the UK in 2023 gaining a very high score to achieve Elite status.

Colmar was a multiple winner in age classes and stepped up to 1.40m and 1.50m levels as an 8-year-old. He again stepped up to be placed at the 1.60m Grand Prix as a 9-year-old and won a 2* Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi in 2020. He was a regular on the Global Champions Tour, giving some fantastic performances.

Colmar was 33% blood.

SIRE
Colmar is by Colestus, who jumped at 1.60m level and was himself sired by the great Cornet Obolensky. As a sport horse, Colestus was an exceptional jumper from a young age, winning over 25 young horse classes. He later competed successfully at the 1.60–1.65m level under riders such as Marco Kutscher, Ludger Beerbaum, and Christian Kukuk, achieving placings at major CSI5 events across Europe and Asia. As a breeding stallion, Colestus has produced hundreds of offspring, with several now competing internationally.

DAM
Piritta – Her sire line is Quidam’s Rubin. Quidam’s Rubin was a Holsteiner stallion by Quidam de Revel who earned perfect jumping scores in stallion tests and became a highly influential sire, producing over 30 licensed sons and more than 160–200 S‑level jumpers. Colmar’s dam has a lot of thoroughbred influence, and you can see this in his progeny. They are lovely types that have inherited his qualities and are making their mark internationally and in young horse championships.

PROGENY
His progeny are very impressive and are following in his footsteps. With modern athletic conformation and good attitudes, they continue to impress in competitions.
