Stallions & Stud

Breen Equestrian run a successful breeding operation both at Hickstead, and in Ireland where Shane breeds horses both in partnership with his father John Breen and with his cousin John Griffin.

The mares we use for breeding are all chosen for their temperament, and for their conformation and performance in the ring. We use the best jumping stallions from around the world and also our own competition stallions who we stand here at Hickstead.

We have bred the international show jumping stars Buddy Bunn and Cos I Can, international event horses Cos I Will and Tafetta and now have homebred horses competing in international young horse classes in Europe. We have now have homebreds by Balloon competing in international classes in the UK, Europe and the USA.

We have a good selection of young stock by both Balloon and Golden Hawk from foals to 5 year olds.
