Vilamoura Champions Tour 2020 - Week One

Kicking off 6 weeks of sunshine and showjumping, the Breen Team hit the ground running in Portugal. 


On Thursday, Shane and Golden Hawk were clear in the 3* 1.30, while his new ride, Haya, owned by Old Lodge took 10th in that same class. It was 9th place for Gait L in the 3* 1.40 and Compelling Z jumped clear with just a time fault in the 3* 1.45. 


Georgia and Quintella were also clear and in the prizes in the 1.30, while she and Evita I recorded a clear in that same class. Two more clear rounds for Georgia came with the help of her rides Sjelle (in the 3* 1.40) And Clyde VA (in the 3* 1.45 ranking class). 


The 1.30 class also proved fruitful for Jack, recording clear rounds aboard both KBS Major Player and Cuick Star Kervec while for he and Hollywood, it was 8th place in the 1.40. 


In the swing of things on Friday, Shane came firing out of the gates taking victory in the 3* 1.45 Ranking class with the Old Lodge owned Golden Hawk. Georgia took 8th in the same class with Evita and was clear in the 1.30. Jack was also clear aboard both KBS Major Player and Cuick Star Kervec. 


Georgia and Quintella nabbed 10th in the 1.35 on Saturday, with Shane and Haya 14th. Jack jumped a handy double clear with BBS McGregor in the 1.40 before snatching 3rd in the same class aboard Hollywood. 


Sunday brought the 3* Grand Prix and while Shane and Compelling Z had a fantastic round for just one fence down and a 20th place finish, Georgia and Clyde VA were 6th ahead of Jack who was 9th aboard Granada S. 


Jack also put in a great performance in the 1.30 accumulator, finishing 2nd and 11th with KBS Major Player and Cuick Star Kervec, respectively.
