Liverpool CSI4*

January 06, 17:00

Nina Barbour and her team ran another superb New Year show at Liverpool. Shane took Guidam van her Achterhoek and Ipswich van de Wolfsakker for the 4*, Georgia took Bina Ford's Acoustik Solo du Baloubet for the U25's and Sunniva took Vienna and One Kamula for the amateur classes.

Jumping started on Friday with Sunniva finishing 11th on One Kamula, a horse she has only ridden for a week. On Saturday Sunniva finished 15th in the 1.30 on Vienna, then Shane and Ipswich were 6th in the 1.40 two phase and Guidam jumped two superb rounds to finish 3rd in the 1.45 jump-off class. Shane was 9th in the Puissance on David Simpson's Gotti van Pamael.

On Sunday morning Georgia jumped a good round to finish 10th on Acoustik Solo du Baloubet in the U25's.  Sunniva jumped well on One Kamula and was 15th in the 1.30 on Vienna. In the Mini-major relay Shane, dressed as Helena Hippo, and Harry Clarke Tomlinson were 6th. In the 1.50 Ipswich was 15th.

On Monday it was great to see former pupils Jake Saywell and Michael Duffy finish 4th in the U25 and 3rd in the Grand Prix respectively. Guidam was very unlucky to have the last fence to finish 14th in the 1.45 and then was equal 5th in the knockout competition. Ipswich stepped up to jump his first 1.60 Grand Prix and jumped brilliantly just making two green mistakes. All in all an excellent show.
